New York State Regents Physics & AP Physics B Tutoring I currently have more than two decades of teaching experience at all levels, from elementary through college, with an emphasis on teaching pre-med and engineering introductory physics (texts are Giancoli 4th edition and Knight 2nd edition) and therefore have much experience with teaching and tutoring physics, ranging from high school through freshman college. Private home tutoring for you or your child's physics needs is available for the following physics courses in the western Suffolk County region of Long Island, New York. The key to achieving success in physics is to simply practice as many problems as possible to increase one’s skill and confidence level. Meeting in your home on a weekly, biweekly or monthly frequency, can ensure a higher probability of success for your child. Physics Teaching, Aviation Photography, Glassblowing Edward Pascuzzi NYS Honors/Non-Honors Regents Physics This is typically taught in 11th or 12th grade in either public or private schools and involves only basic algebraic and trigonometric math in addition to many new and unique concepts that can be often be very unique and perplexing to many students. Using a variety of demonstrations, activities and problem-solving tips, success in Regents Physics can be easily achieved. Advanced Placement Physics B (now “Physics 1” and “Physics 2”) This is a college course also typically taught in 11th or 12th grade in either public or private schools and also involves only basic algebraic and trigonometric math, however its fast pace can be daunting, particularly for 11th grade students who have had no previous physics (or AP) experience (note that The College Board actually recommends this course as a second-year physics course, meaning some other basic physics course such as Regents Physics should be taken as a prerequisite for this course). Success in AP Physics B is focused entirely on problem-solving and training one to answer multiple-choice questions quickly without the use of a calculator. Practice is also given to hone skills with Free Response (open- ended) questions. In 2014, the College Board changed the exam format of this course, and the first exam to be given in the new format is the 2015 AP Physics B exam. See the link below for more information; Advanced Placement Physics C; Electricity & Magnetism This is a college course typically taken by 12th grade students in either public or private schools and not only involves basic algebraic and trigonometric math, but also encompasses some basic calculus, including simple differentiation and integration as well as path and surface integrals (such as seen in Gauss' Law and Ampere's Law). Depending upon the school, students may also take the Mechanics section of the C course. Advanced Placement Physics C; Mechanics This is a college course typically taken by 12th grade students in either public or private schools and not only involves basic algebraic and trigonometric math, but also encompasses some basic calculus, including simple differentiation and integration covering the units typically seen in the first part of a freshman engineering physics course. Topics include linear motion, dynamics, energy, conservation laws, moment of inertia, simple harmonic motion and a variety of others.

Since there is almost always an exam around the corner, and college admissions departments look favorably on good physics grades

(as it is the cornerstone of all sciences), don’t hesitate to assist your child with the extra help he or she may be in need of in order to achieve

success in physics.  I have a long list of tutoring references and with more than two decades of teaching both high school and college

physics your child will certainly benefit.  Please do not hesitate to contact me to make arrangements for private tutoring.
